About Her Ladyship

A portrait of Lady Crumbleworth-Fitzgerald

Lady Crumbleworth-Fitzgerald, formerly of Crumbleworth Hall, Wiltshire, has dedicated her considerable leisure to the rigorous assessment of desserts encountered during her travels — though "rigorous" may be doing some work here, as Her Ladyship has never awarded fewer than four stars to anything, and rather suspects she never shall.

A woman of strong opinions on lamination, scandalised by underbaked sponge, and quietly delighted by almost everything else, Lady Penelope brings to each entry the full weight of a household that once employed seventeen staff and an alarming number of opinions about caramel.

Occasionally, an entry will be flagged — a brief aside in which Her Ladyship raises a Constitutional Concern, questions the Provenance of an ingredient, or issues a Royal Decree. These are not to be taken seriously. Almost nothing here is.
